Summary

Caption: nontolled projects. Bill: a toll concession extension, priced at whatever TxDOT and the company agree on.

The bill orders the Texas Department of Transportation to amend its existing private toll-road deal for State Highway 130 Segments 5 and 6 so the deal can run up to 20 more years. The private company that holds that deal must pay the state something in return, in a manner or amount the department and the company agree on, and that money must go to non-toll road projects between I-35 and SH 130 in the affected counties, with county approval. On the ground, one private operator keeps its toll concession for up to two extra decades, local non-toll projects get a new funding source, and the department reports to lawmakers by December 1, 2026.

the amendment.

(j) Any funds received under Subsection (i)(2) must be used
