relating to exempting certain transactions from regulation by the Texas Real Estate Commission.

Caption from analyzed text · version H.

Summary

Solar, wind, geothermal and nuclear land rights need no license.

The bill widens the list of deals that do not need a Texas Real Estate Commission license, adding sales and leases of land rights in minerals, quarries, standing timber, and energy sources like solar, wind, geothermal and nuclear. It touches landmen, energy and timber dealmakers, and partners, managers, members and employees of limited partnerships and LLCs who sell or lease their company's own real estate. On the ground, these people can negotiate those deals without a real estate license, and the bill adds plain definitions of mineral, other energy source and water.
