Summary

Or blood from donors they pick, for scheduled procedures.

The bill requires licensed Texas hospitals to let a patient give their own blood, or use blood from donors they pick, for a scheduled medical procedure. It touches hospitals and patients facing scheduled procedures, plus the friends or family a patient names as donors. If the patient tells the hospital at least 72 hours ahead and, for donor-directed blood, gives a list of eligible donors, the hospital must allow it starting September 1, 2025.
