THE TEXT

“A board in a county with a population of less than 1.3”…

Bill text, introduced version (I)

The caption reads like a general change to bail bond board meeting schedules. The new schedule applies only to counties under 1.3 million people that also contain a city of 750,000 or more, a pairing that likely fits only a handful of places.

Summary

Six meetings a year, odd months only. The county also needs a 750,000-person city.

The bill lets one class of county bail bond board meet six times a year, in odd-numbered months, instead of the usual once a month. It touches bail bond boards, and the bondsmen they license, only in counties under 1.3 million people that contain a city of 750,000 or more. If such a board tables or fails to act on a license renewal, the bondsman's current license stays valid until the board's next meeting.

the presiding officer; and

officer.

SECTION 2. Section 1704.162(h), Occupations Code, is

amended in read as follows:

(h) Notwithstanding the expiration date of a license issued
