Summary

County judge, County Court at Law judge and three to five appointees.

This bill changes who sits on the Moore County Juvenile Board and how long the appointed members serve. The board becomes the county judge, the judge of the County Court at Law of Moore County, and three to five members picked by the commissioners court, instead of the county judge plus six appointees with staggered terms. All appointed terms now end together on December 31 of even-numbered years, the commissioners court can vote to extend a member's term by up to two years, and two general state rules on juvenile boards that Moore County had been exempt from now apply to it starting September 1, 2025.
