Summary

Capture the floodwater, treat it, distribute it as new water supply.

The bill widens the list of projects that can get money from the state flood infrastructure fund. It adds multi-purpose projects that capture floodwater, stormwater, farm runoff or treated wastewater, then treat and distribute that water as a new water supply. Local sponsors of these dual-use flood and water-supply projects can now apply to the flood fund starting September 1, 2025.
