Summary

The ban narrows to licensed agents and workers’ comp insurers.

This bill loosens the conflict-of-interest rules for who can sit on the board of the Texas Mutual Insurance Company. It narrows the ban from anyone licensed under the Insurance Code, and their employees and consultants, to licensed insurance agents and people tied to insurers that write workers' compensation insurance in Texas. It also stops counting second-degree relatives and household members, so more people with insurance-industry ties can serve on the board.
