Summary

Screening, transplant and financial help info in English and Spanish. Required only if lawmakers pay.

The bill creates a kidney disease resource center, named for Rita Littlefield, inside the state Health and Human Services Commission, along with a clinical trials registry that patients and families can join. The center must gather information in English and Spanish on kidney disease screening, prevention, nutrition, treatment, transplants, financial help and specialist directories, and post it on the commission's website. The commission only has to do any of this if lawmakers set aside money for it, though it may accept gifts and grants or use other funds.
