Summary
Any course, graduate students included.
The bill widens the existing free-tuition benefit for working Texas peace officers at public colleges, so it covers any course and graduate students, not just undergraduate criminal justice or law enforcement classes. It reaches state and local peace officers enrolled in a 'law enforcement-related' degree, which the bill defines to include fields such as law, nursing, psychology, chemistry, biology, foreign languages, business and accounting, and computer science. Starting with fall 2025, colleges must waive tuition and lab fees for these officers if they keep up their grades and apply on time.
