relating to requirements for loans or grants provided by the Texas
Transportation Commission to aviation facilities located in
economically disadvantaged counties.
Five percent of the project cost from non-state money.
The bill lowers the local cost share that a city or county must put up to get a state aviation loan or grant when the airport sits in an economically disadvantaged county. Those airports would need to cover five percent of the project cost from non-state money instead of the usual ten percent. All other airports keep the ten percent match, and the rules on 20-year local control, disclosing funding sources, and adequate planning stay the same.
