Summary

The data goes to the Health and Human Services Commission.

The bill makes hospital nurse staffing data reporting mandatory and sends that data to the Health and Human Services Commission for enforcement. It bars hospitals from retaliating against nurses who give information to the staffing committee or report violations, and it has the commission run a web page where nurses can report staffing and overtime violations, which the commission must investigate. Hospitals that break the staffing or mandatory overtime rules, or knowingly submit false staffing data, can face administrative penalties, and the attorney general can sue to collect them.
