Summary

Credit Union Department abolition moves up to 2031.

This bill resets when several state agencies come up for sunset review and makes small changes to how the sunset review process works. It moves the Credit Union Department's abolition date earlier to 2031 and the State Office of Administrative Hearings' review to 2031. It pushes the Juvenile Justice Department's date from 2027 to 2031 and the veterinary board's date from 2027 to 2033. It orders a narrow review of juvenile justice regionalization for the next Legislature, with the agency's independent ombudsman left out of that review. It also requires the Juvenile Justice Department to report by September 1, 2026, on the federal investigation, waitlists, staffing and construction. Finally, it lets the commission excuse agencies hit by a declared disaster and applies reporting and hearing steps to agencies that are reviewed but not abolished.
