The bill moves the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum in Canyon from West Texas A&M University to the Texas Historical Commission and lets the commission contract with the Panhandle-Plains Historical Society to run it. It touches the commission, the university, the Texas A&M University System, the historical society, and the university employees who work only at the museum, who become commission employees on September 1, 2025.
