Summary

Adult, discharged, and consenting.

The bill lets the Texas Juvenile Justice Department release records about a person it once held, if that person is now an adult, has been discharged, and agrees to the release. It touches former juvenile detainees and the department that keeps their files. On the ground, an adult who was in state juvenile custody can consent to have specific information shared for a specific purpose, and the department may not go beyond that consent.
