Summary

Not when the second ends in deferred adjudication.

The bill adds a second offense of indecent assault to the list of offenses that require a person to register as a sex offender in Texas. It reaches people with a second indecent assault conviction or juvenile adjudication, including similar second violations under other states', federal, foreign or military law, but not when that second violation ends in deferred adjudication. Parole, probation and juvenile agencies must handle registration paperwork for out-of-state cases on the day supervision begins, and the rule applies only to offenses committed on or after September 1, 2025.
