Summary

Schedule C, hazardous duty pay, injury leave. Same as the other state officers.

The bill adds peace officers hired by the Health and Human Services Commission's inspector general to the state's official list of peace officers. It moves those officers onto the state's law enforcement pay scale, called Schedule C, and makes them eligible for hazardous duty pay and injury leave like other state officers. Starting September 1, 2025, these investigators get higher pay and the same benefits other state law enforcement agencies already give their officers.
