THE TEXT

“is managed jointly with a public agency of another state and serves a county adjacent to the border of this state”

Bill text, introduced version (I)

This narrow description likely fits only a very small number of airports, so state aviation money opens to a uniquely described beneficiary. The caption does say "certain" airports, so the narrowness is partly disclosed.

Summary

Eligibility opens to airports run jointly “with a public agency of another state.” Likely very few.

The bill makes more commercial service airports eligible for state aviation financial assistance, including the aviation facilities capital improvement program. It covers airports in Texas-Mexico border counties with fewer than 300,000 people, and adds airports run jointly with a public agency of another state that serve a county next to the state line. A jointly managed, state-line airport that could not get this state help before can now apply for it, as long as federal funding rules allow.
