Summary

The caption never names the industry. Chapter 1304 providers are out, plus written cancel-anytime services.

The bill adds two new exemptions to the state law that lets consumers cancel certain transactions. Service contracts regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation are exempt, and so is any service the consumer can cancel at any time if that right is given in writing. Sellers in those two groups will no longer be covered by this cancellation law for transactions on or after September 1, 2025.
