Summary

Also out: any service the seller says, in writing, you can cancel anytime.

The bill adds two new exceptions to the state law that lets consumers cancel certain sales, such as door-to-door deals, within a short window. Service contracts regulated by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation are now outside that law, and so is any service the consumer can cancel at any time if the seller says so in writing. Starting September 1, 2025, buyers of those contracts and services lose the cancellation rights this chapter gives, and sellers no longer have to follow its rules for them.
