Summary

A spaceport city under 150,000 handles weekday beach closures. The county keeps weekends.

The bill bars counties, cities and other local governments from passing or enforcing any rule that bans, limits or regulates space flight activities, leaving that power to the federal government and the state. It also rewrites the beach-closure law for Gulf coast counties with an FAA-approved launch site, so that a small city containing a spaceport now handles weekday closure requests, while the county keeps weekend requests. Space companies would face no local rules beyond beach closures, and city ordinances would win over county orders when the two conflict.
